An excellent crew of volunteers--all in hunter orange vests-- made goodprogress: Rocky Goodreau, Craig Miller, Eric DeRivera, Tom Pitman, Bill
Stuart (new volunteer from Shrewsbury), Hank Ouellette, Gail Hartman,
Tom Hetherington, Paul Miller, Ed Yaglou and Colleen Abrams. Volunteers
hailed from a broad range of towns including Lowell, Sterling,
Shrewsbury, Holden, Rutland, Paxton, West Boylston, Worcester and
Barre. Thank you all!

Members of Wachusett Greenways and
guest walked off Thanksgiving dinner on December 3rd hiking Asnebumskit Hill in
Paxton. Weather was clear and sunny, but cold!!! Everyone enjoyed a bit of hot
cider after the walk. This picture is of the group and an engine used for an
abandoned rope tow on top of Little Asnebumskit Hill. Here we are hiking
along the Red-Yellow trail. ( Right picture)
Luminaria Night

On December 15
Wachusett Greenways inaugurated what we hope will become an annual event. For
the past ten years Holden Center neighborhoods have established the tradition of
holding a luminaria night. Each year the celebration gets a little larger as
additional streets want to be included. New in 2001 was live music and
refreshments for the hundreds of strollers. This year Wachusett Greenways joined
the fun. We met at Davis Hill School for a one hour illuminated walk around
town, then gathered to hear the band and carolers while we enjoyed hot drinks
and cookies. Participants included Jim and Colleen Abrams, Rick and Darcy
Adshead, Larry and Lori Altobelli, Jane Arntz, Carol and Colleen Clark , Carl
Ludvigsen family, Carolyn Holt and Jim and Ida Nystrom. Plan ahead to join us
next year!
