Wachusett Greenways Winter Activities, 2000-2001




Chaffins Brook Walk - December 23, 2000
This walk took us on the old Holden trolley line and along the Chaffins Brook
to the remains of the Shoddy Mill site near Malden Street.

Ski Tour at Greenhill park, Worcester, MA

 Kim McCoy organized a ski tour at Green Hill Park in Worcester at 1 pm on January 13, 2001. 

  After Kim told of his spectacular New Year's afternoon there, Colleen Abrams suggested he lead
a ski tour at the park. We looped from Green Hill Pond to the zoo, golf course, picnic shelters, 
and sledding hills, catching sunny vistas of Wachusett and other wooded hills.We were surrounded
by plenty of glistening fresh, drifted, or tracked snow.  It was an extremely pleasant sight with
no ice, slush, wind, or cold to contend with. The skiers agreed we'd like to return here soon. 
We might also enjoy ice skating or sledding on another day.
