Greenways members Ed Yaglou, David Kaplan, Bruce Pennino and Hank Ouellette traveled
to Westchester N.Y. on March 19, 2002 to examine two 100 foot long bridges which were
built by the Echo Bridge Co. This  manufacturer is being considered for the Charlotte Kaplan
bridge on the Mass Central Rail Trail but this design with the extension below the deck may 
prohibit its use in our location.

        An excellent trail clearing team worked on the Mass Central Rail Trail in Rutland on Saturday, March 23. Rocky Goodreau, Dick Williams, Mike Preston, Sue Hall, Paul Miller, Tim and Carol Clark, Hank Ouellette and Jim and Colleen Abrams made good progress from the trail entrance behind Watson Estates toward Glenwood Road. We met two MDC rangers from the Ware watershed. They were quite interested in the story of the Mass Central Rail Trail.
