                                              Springdale Mill Celebration


     Wachusett Greenways invites you to the annual Springdale Mill Celebration on the Mass Central Rail Trail on Saturday, September 25 from 11 to 2.

       Enjoy the music of Chas and Deb, good food, a mill treasure hunt, face painting and more.  The event will be held rain or shine and all ages are welcome. For those who need a boost to make the 1.5 miles to the mill, a ride will be available.

       This year join the Family Trail Trek at 11:30 a.m. from the West Boylston entrance to the Mass Central Rail Trail.  Registration begins at 11 at the trail head sign. Walk, run or bicycle 4.4 mile to River Street, Holden and back to the Springdale Mill or choose a 1.5 mile trek to the Mill. West Boylston and

                 

                      

     Holden police officers will lead off the Family Trek on bicycles.  West Boylston police will also help fit helmets and provide new helmets to those who need them.  All those who complete the Trek will be recognized with stickers on their entry tags, and children will receive small gift bags with bicycle and walking safety information.

                                       

The Family Trail Trek is cosponsored by Wachusett Fitness in memory of Dylan Seymour who died from leukemia at age 3. Families and individuals who register are invited to contribute to the Mass Central Rail Trail fund and a bench will be placed on the trail in memory of Dylan.

Learn more at www.wachusettgreenways.org or contact Wachusett Fitness.  Directions to trail head parking:  I-190, exit 5, south on Route 140 one mile.  Where 140 turns to the left, continue straight ahead about one block to DCR, Thomas Street parking on the right. If extra parking is needed, participants are welcome to park at the Oakdale Methodist Church on Route 140 just north of the trail parking for this event.  An alternate route to the celebration is from the River Street, Holden entrance.  The distance to the Springdale Mill site from River Street, Holden is 1.4 miles.
