October 2002 Activities

Connecting the Wachusett Community with Trails and Greenways 

                

                               

                                              

                Holden DPW has begun Rail Trail surface construction between the two Kaplan Bridges, October 2002.

The trail bed has been scraped, ditches dug and the tree stumps were removed. The next step will be to lay down the surface gravel.

This part of the trail (near the Charlotte Kaplan bridge) was in critical need of repair due to the surface water in this area.

                

    

Wachusett Greenways sponsored a bike trip to the Nashua  River Rail Trail in Ayer, MA on October 29, 2002.
This trail is about 12 miles long (one way) and goes from Ayer to Pepperell, MA.
