Wachusett Greenways

Connecting the Wachusett Community with Trails and Greenways

October , 2003 activities

We had 10 persons including me for the Still water Canoe outing,  October 5, 2003 (4 canoes and 1 kayak). Went upstream as far as possible and explored the wetlands and backwaters. Most of the participants were not very familiar with rail trail project, but they are now! One canoe tipped over coming back over a beaver dam. They could stand up in the water so no life threatening situation. One of the other canoes had a pump so we were able to get them back in and to the cars with minimal problems. It was only their second time in the canoe! They will remember the Stillwater.
