      The Quag bridge, refurbished from Boston's big dig project, was installed over Lake Waushacum in Sterling, MA on May 27, 2004
      
The new Charlotte Kaplan bridge installed June 20, 2002. 
 
This bridge now connects the MCRT from Oakdale, MA to River Street in Holden, MA
 
       
 The MCRT west of the I-190 bridge to the CK bridge is complete with the topping of stone dust.

Bridge was installed on November 5, 2001 and dedication was Nov. 10th.


Kaplan Bridge retainer walls were completed week of October 20, 2001.

The Trail connection (B road) from River St., Holden to Manning St. was improved by the MDC. A gravel base, drain pipes and tree cutting was performed during August, 2001
Trail was construction over the hill between Manning St. (near Trout Brook) to Rt. 31 The Americorps crew and Wachusett Greenways cleared the brush and trees and laid out the trail in May and Larson Construction prepared the roadbed and laid down the base gravel in Aug. and Sept. 2001. The top layer of fine gravel was completed by October.
Two of Boston's "Big Dig bridges" were delivered on the rail trail in Sterling, MA in September, 2001 The bridges will be used to cross the Quag area on West Lake Waushacum in Sterling.
