Join us for Golden Spike 2018 to learn about remarkable rail trail connections on the Mass Central Rail Trail and beyond. Kurt Gaertner, Director of Land Policy & Planning at MA Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, will share a vision for more Golden Spikes for trails in Massachusetts.
The conference takes place on Saturday, July 28, from 9 AM to 1:30 PM. at Union Station in Northampton, MA.
The conference is open to everyone. And why not enjoy wonderful bicycle and walking tours with trail leaders on Friday, July 27, and Saturday, July 28! Sign up at www.gs2018.org for the conference and tours.
Hosted by the Friends of Northampton Trails and Greenways (FNTG) and the MCRT coalition, the conference brings together participants from both Connecticut and Massachusetts at nearly the exact center point of two major corridors at Northampton’s Union Station.
In 1999 Wachusett Greenways hosted the first Golden Spike Conference in West Boylston, which focused on the east-west 104-mile Mass Central rail corridor. Congressman Jim McGovern and other trail enthusiasts participated. Join us on July 27 to learn about the steady march of many trail partners to connect the MCRT and other rail trails.
Wachusett Greenways will provide a WG or MCRT shirt or hat for just $5 to you when you attend.
After you register for the conference, please contact Steve Chanis at firstname.lastname@example.org or Colleen Abrams at 508-479-2123 to let us know you’ll be attending. We invite you to car pool and/or join a caravan to Northampton from Holden or points along the way.
