The hike will start at 11:00 at Gate 22, GPS address 167 Temple Street (Route 140) West Boylston. This is also the entrance to MassWildlife&#8217;s offices. The hike will be about 2 miles round trip. Kathryn Parent says, \u201cI hope\u00a0you are able to join the tradition and celebrate the New Year by getting outside! There are other First Day Hike opportunities across the state\u201d\u00a0&#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mass.gov\/doc\/first-day-hikes-2023-statewide-flyer\/download\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.mass.gov\/doc\/first-day-hikes-2023-statewide-flyer\/download&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1672408141634000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2EA2bafQ8kWYbPtQ1rBz2V\">https:\/\/www.mass.gov\/doc\/first-day-hikes-2023-statewide-flyer\/download<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The DCR winter\u00a0hiking series will continue for January and February on Saturdays from 11:00 am-1:00 pm<\/span>, as long as the trail and parking lots are safe.\u00a0They\u00a0will take advantage of the winter landscape and take trails that get overgrown in the summer, changing to different routes each week. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">It is recommended to bring your own ice cleats,\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0DCR has\u00a0a limited supply to borrow during the program.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Saturdays, January 7, 14, 21, 28, 11:00-1:00\u2002<\/span>\u2002<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>WACHUSETT RESERVOIR HIKE GATE 22<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Explore the trails between South Bay and Horseshoe Cove on different trails and shoreline areas each week. Easy to moderate hike will be approximately 2.5 miles. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy hiking shoes. Meet at Gate 22, GPS address 167 Temple Street (Route 140)West Boylston.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Saturdays, February 4, 11, 25, 11:00-1:00<\/span>\u2002\u2002<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>WACHUSETT RESERVOIR HIKE GATE 8<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Get\u00a0to know the trails of Sawyer Bluff! The guided winter hiking series will continue every Saturday in February meeting at Gate\u00a08, and\u00a0exploring different trails and shoreline areas of the Narrows, Lord Cove, and Hastings Cove. Easy to moderate hike will be approximately 3 miles. Meet at Gate 8, the intersection of Cross Street and Route 70, Boylston.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Saturday, February 18, 11:00-1:00\u2002<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>CABIN FEVER SNOWSHOE HIKE\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Join Watershed Rangers on a family-friendly hike. Bring your own snowshoes if there is snow.
